Limited to 20 copies hand bound in full grain emerald kidskin, black Fabriano laid endpapers, black and gold headbands, stamped in gold with the image of tri-form Hecate.
An in depth study of an ancient magical spell preserved on a lead tablet, 159 pages with a fold out plate of the original artefact, reflecting much of the content of the Greaco-Egyptian Magical Papyri this lead tablet contains a lengthy and explicit love spell with depositions to the underworld deities, adjurations of the ‘daimones’, complex magical formulae expressed as ‘barbarous names’ (voces magicae) and powerful vowel combinations.
Closely resembling the content of other magical texts on lead tablets and also the great magical papyrus of Paris (lines 296-433) this represents an important study of a significant ancient magical text.
